At Man Around The House, we are a family-owned, full-service home improvement company with a long history of delivering top-quality services to our customers. Our journey began with our father, John Wittmaack, who started the business as a light bulb changing service for elderly people who couldn't climb ladders to reach their chandeliers. Over time, our customers asked him to do odd jobs around their homes, and the business grew. Unfortunately, our father lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on March 8, 2002, but we decided to push forward, taking over the business and continuing to live by the same principles and values he taught us.

Our father's simple values have contributed to consistent business growth over the years. He believed that if you love what you do, it's not work, and that retaining experienced and skilled craftsmen, offering superior service, and providing the best value would earn the trust of your customers. He also believed in doing right by people and letting your reputation speak for you. These values have allowed us to work in well over half the homes in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and expand to surrounding communities.

Today, we employ some of the finest craftsmen in the trades and have developed an extensive network of subcontractors to round out our services. You'll see our vans in your town performing renovations & remodels, all types of home repairs, and professional painting. Our Home Repair Services division specializes in all interior and exterior home repair services such as sheetrock repair & plaster repair, trim replacement & molding replacement, window installation & window repairs, door replacement & door repairs, general carpentry & custom carpentry, deck repairs & deck replacement, built-ins and cabinets, siding repairs & replacement, caulking & grouting, and tile repairs and tile installation.

Finally, our Professional Painting division offers top-quality painting services for both interior and exterior projects.
